Beech Driftbeater

This started as a bodied waggler, my intention was a spalted Beech body and a reed stem, when put together it just didnt look right, so I cut off the reed and inserted a 1mm cane stem, this was finished off with a Mahogany sight tip, I normaly paint the tips but this time left it the reddish brown of the Mahogany.

Float length 21cm, Beech body with cane and mahogany.

A close up of the body showing the natural markings of the wood and where the original reed stem was cut before the cane was added.
The natural wood markings mean no two floats will ever be exactly the same.
Again the base came from a Yew log and has felt underneath, lets say from now on every base will be the same unless I mention otherwise.
