I managed to get hold of some Scottish Damson wood, very nice grain and has a lovely redish pink hue running through parts of it, though as usual some bits of the wood are more coloured than others.
I thought a small Avon float might look nice, the body and tip are 1 piece and cane was used for the stem.
I decided to add some whipping to the stem as cane just looks a bit bare.
The Pink hue can be seen better in this picture, though it isnt as well marked as some
Body 40mm long, 13mm dia. Tip 20mm long 6mm dia, total float length is 13cm.
